SENDIASS: ‘Help Us Improve Our Service’
You may or may not have already heard of SENDIASS – Birmingham’s SEND information, advice, and support service. They work directly with parent carers and other family members to help and support their children and young people with special educational needs.
If this is your first time hearing about the service, and you find yourself in need of advice, information or support for a SEND related issue, we recently posted a detailed spotlight which we recommend reading. It will tell you all about the service, from what they do, how they approach individual cases, and the ways you can contact them.
Assuming, however, you HAVE heard of SENDIASS, and have approached them in the past for advice, support and information, then please keep reading to get involved with a great opportunity for sharing feedback. This will help SENDIASS continually improve the support that they offer families in our city.
The SENDIASS Communication Survey
Until Friday 9th October 2026, SENDIASS are running a quick survey with a focus on communication. They want to know all about your previous experiences engaging with them. Things like, how you got in contact, where you originally heard about the service, and what you thought about communications from them.
With only 8 questions, the survey is short and should take no more than 5 minutes. Though there is a more general question on how SENDIASS could be improved, so feel free to go in to as little or as much detail as you would like.
Communication is crucial when it comes to SEND. There are so many different people involved in a child or young persons education, health, and wellbeing. From parent carers and other family members, to teachers, support staff, and those of us who work for organisations in the Local Area Partnership. It is important that we are all on the same page and explore the best ways of communicating with each other.
By completing this survey, and getting involved with other future engagement opportunities, you will be having a profound and positive impact on the lives of children and young people across the city.
