The Children and Young People’s Travel Service provides transport to over 5000 pupils via 1100 travel routes across the city. Many of our children and young people are vulnerable with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and unable to make their own way to school either independently or accompanied by an adult.

Birmingham City Council provides travel assistance to those pupils that meet the eligibility requirements for transport, aged 5-16, post 16 and post 19, ensuring our pupils are transported to and from school safely. We offer Independent Travel Training programmes to support our pupils in achieving independence as they move to becoming young adults.
