CASBA | Support for parents with learning difficulties
Description
CASBA is a Birmingham charity that supports adults with learning disabilities to have their voices heard, make informed choices, and live healthy, independent lives. Since 1988, the organisation has provided advocacy and a wide range of community-based support services.
CASBA supports people who are planning a family, are expecting a baby, or have children under the age of three. The charity also helps people improve their physical and mental wellbeing, including encouraging access to annual health checks and healthy lifestyle activities.
The organisation runs self-advocacy groups for young adults aged 18 to 25 and for adults aged 26 and over, helping people build confidence, understand their rights, and make decisions about their future. CASBA also works with individuals to share their lived experiences, helping to improve local services and professional practice.
In addition, CASBA offers a variety of social and wellbeing activities, including exercise sessions, cooking groups, and opportunities to meet others, learn new skills, and have fun in a supportive environment.
