Description

Deaf World is a Birmingham-based, youth-led charity supporting deaf and hard of hearing young people aged 11–25, with a strong focus on building confidence, skills and independence while ensuring young people are actively involved in decisions that affect their lives. Empowerment and participation sit at the heart of its work, with young people shaping activities through a steering group that develops leadership, communication and life skills. Deaf World offers inclusive opportunities including a Deaf Zone Youth Club, a deaf cricket team competing in a hearing league, road safety and supported driving projects with BSL interpreters, and a safe space for young women to connect and influence services. Working closely with families, schools and partners, the charity supports positive outcomes, smoother transitions into adulthood and stronger voices for deaf and hard of hearing young people across Birmingham.
