School Age: Strategies and Resources
You can use this guidance to support children and young people in your setting. It is organised around the four broad areas of need and can help you to:
- recognise when a child may be finding something difficult
- understand what this might look like in the classroom
- try practical strategies as part of everyday teaching
Start by selecting an area of need. Use ‘What you might see’ to reflect on your observations, then explore ‘What you can try’ to support the child or young person.
Strategies should be used flexibly alongside high-quality adaptive teaching and adapted to meet individual strengths and needs.
